Whatever your lifestyle, or how much weight you want to lose, we have a programme that will work for you.

We have a wide range of great tasting foodpacks for you to choose from. You will be better nourished using Practically Slim Mealpacks than conventional food, where it can be difficult to receive 100% RDA whilst reducing your daily calorie intake.

What is a Low Calorie Diet (LCD)?

A low calorie diet (LCD) is ideal for someone who wants to lose weight with a flexible plan of meal replacements and healthy recipes. Practically Slim has plans which incorporate meal replacement packs alongside food (the MAD Plan and the 2×2 Plan).

What is a Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD)?

This diet works through rapid weight loss by ketosis. All of our products are nutritionally balanced meaning they have been scientifically produced to contain all the nutrients, vitamins and minerals required to stay healthy.

You can decide to use packs to replace all of your food in order achieve your weight loss goals rapidly through a safe, natural state of ketosis. This means your body is burning fat rapidly as its primary fuel source, and you also have the benefits of no hunger and plenty of energy. Very Low Calorie Diets (VLCDs) are designed to provide all the vitamins, trace elements and nutrients your body needs, as well as providing good quality protein and all the essential fats that your body requires to be healthy. This means that you are having at least 100% of the recommended daily RDAs and between 400-800 kcal per day. VLCDs commonly replace all of the daily diet with their products. They can also combine products with small amounts of conventional foods.

The recommended number of kcals for those having conventional meals is in the region of 2,000 for women and 2,500 for men. 3 x 200 calorie or 4 x 150 calorie Practically Slim products contain about 600 kcal per day. The limited amount of calories means that your body turns to its store of fat for extra energy and this fat burning, which is a natural process, enables you to lose weight quickly, simply and safely.

VLCDs have been used in the UK for more than 30 years, and there’s been a great deal of medical research into the effectiveness of VLCDs.

Your Health

If you are only using Practically Slim Meal packs as sole source, we recommend you use them for up to 12 weeks, at a time in accordance with NICE guidelines.

We do recommend you visit your GP on a regular basis so they can adjust your medication as you lose weight. This will also motivate you as you start to see your health condition improving.

Diabetes

If you have Type 2 diabetes, Practically Slim recommends that you follow our 3 pack plan (MAD Plan) option. We also recommend that you discuss using the programme with your GP and or your diabetic clinic, prior to starting.
